ABM University College (ABMUC) whose focal area is Entrepreneurship and Business Leadership was incorporated in 1989 and subsequently registered with the Ministry of Education in 1990. The institution is accredited with the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) the national regulator for tertiary education. ABMUC is located in the two main cities namely Gaborone and Francistown and plans are underway to open two more satellite campuses in some of the strategic locations in the country.
ABM University College is under the leadership of the Council who are tasked with the general governance, supervision and control of the affairs of the institution. The Council runs its business through five committees namely: – Finance, Audit, Tender, Human Resource and Academic. The Council is made up of seasoned professionals in different areas of expertise. The day to day operations of the institution are run by the Executive Director.
The institution not only has it contributed significantly to human resource development in different sectors of the economy such as government, parastatals and the private sector, but to the wider South African regional human resources pool.
Given its desire to benchmark against international standards, ABMUC has a footprint in the international market, including students from Swaziland, Lesotho, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Kenya. The institution is also currently exploring markets in Africa at large and beyond.
ABM University College offers programmes in the following disciplines: Financial Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, Chartered Institute of Procurement (CIPS), Secretarial Studies, Early Childhood Education and Daycare Management to name a few.
In its quest for excellence, ABM University College has formed strategic partnerships with several international institutions, and was also admitted to the membership of the Association of African Universities (AAU), an apex body that brings together African Universities and Colleges of repute. The Association provides a platform for research, consultation, and collaboration on issues pertaining to higher and tertiary education.
