Dr. Harold Roy-Macauley is the Director General of the Africa Rice Centre, a CGIAR centre. Prior to his current role, he was Director of the following institutions: Centre d'Etude Regional pour l'Amelioration de l'Adaption a la Secheresse, World Agroforestry Centre, West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development. Dr. Roy-Macauley served as a consultant in the area of biosafety for USAID and World Bank and also sat on various committees and executive boards of research institutions. His areas of expertise are plant biodiversity and agricultural development, topics on which he has published several scientific articles and books.
