Mr. De la Borde has more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure finance and has been playing a leading role in the development of complex and landmark transactions globally. During his career, he has closed, as financial adviser or arranger, more than a hundred transactions, including milestone deals in the field of power, transportation, and water. He joined IFC in 2007 and since then has held several Management positions leading the Africa Infra team. Under his leadership, the Africa Infra team tripled its business and delivered key deals such as the launching of the flagship Scaling Solar initiative, with a first closing in Zambia, and the program being rolled out in Senegal, Ethiopia and Madagascar. As of November 2018, he is Director of IFC’s Global Energy & Mining teams which includes Infrastructure’s Advisory efforts. Prior to IFC he spent four years with Proparco and 11 with Société Générale (where he was Managing Director, Infrastructure Project Finance). He graduated from Ecole Centrale de Paris, one of the top French scientific schools, as an Engineer.
